A removal lorry and all its contents were destroyed in minutes when fire tore through the vehicle in Holme-on-Spalding Moor.
Dense black smoke from the blaze could be seen more than five miles away. Firefighters were called just before 10.30am last Friday to tackle the fire, on Station Lane, and were at the scene for more then an hour.
Such was the heat of the fire that a section of carriageway melted.
Ash was carried high into the air, some falling into gardens almost half a mile away.
Station Lane was closed to traffic for almost two hours.
