A popular watering hole in Market Weighton has been named the winner of the Pocklington Post ‘Pub of the Year’ competition.

The Carpenters Arms, on Southgate, beat off stiff competition from three other local pubs who made it through to the final of the competition.

Pocklington inns The Feathers, on Market Place, and The Station, on The Pavement, and Market Weighton’s Bay Horse Inn, on Market Place, were also nominated by our readers to win ‘Pub of the Year’.

Full story in this Thursday’s Pocklington Post (24 April).
