Police urge driver to come forward

A MOTORIST who collided into the back of a car and failed to leave any details is being urged to come forward.

The crash is said to have happened at about 4.25pm on Wednesday 29 August as a female driver of a green Ford Focus approached the Shiptonthorpe roundabout on the A1079.

The woman stopped to give way to traffic on the roundabout, and whilst her vehicle was stationary, another vehicle, described as red hatchback type car, collided with the back of the Ford Focus.

The driver of the red car got out of his vehicle and spoke to the woman, though as the road was busy they did not exchange details there. Instead, at the woman’s suggestion, they agreed to move from the road and carry on their conversation at a nearby garden centre.

The woman, whose Ford Focus sustained damage as a result of the collision, drove to the centre expecting to meet up with the other driver but he failed to turn up.

The man is described as being aged in his mid 30s, of slim build and between 6ft and 6ft 2ins tall. He was smartly dressed, wearing a long black coat which was fastened up and suit trousers with shoes.

The driver of the red car or anyone who has any information and is able to assist police with their enquiries are asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 quoting log number 468 of 29 August 2012.
