POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES AFTER 15 YEAR OLD GILBERDYKE BOY DIES IN FATAL RTC ON B1230 HULL ROAD, EASTRINGTON NEAR GOOLE - WOMAN IS ARRESTED

A 15-year-old boy from Gilberdyke has died following a road traffic collision that happened on the B1230 Hull Road at Eastrington near Goole.

The teenager was on his pedal cycle in the company of another 15-year-old boy from Gilberdyke when the incident occurred at 8.50pm yesterday Thursday 6 September close to the Rose and Crown public house.

The boys were cycling from Howden towards Gilberdyke on the eastbound carriageway when a collision occurred between a dark grey coloured Audi A4 driven by a 67-year-old local woman and the bicycle of the deceased 15-year-old.

The boy tragically sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.

The second boy suffered fractures and bruising injuries and remains in Hull Royal Infirmary at this time. His injuries are described as non life threatening.

The driver was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody waiting to be intervewed.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses who drove along the B1230 between

Howden and Gilberdyke between approximately 8pm and 9pm and remembers seeing either the cyclists or the Audi. Anyone with information is asked to contact Humberside Police on 101 quoting incident number 693 of 06 September 2012.
