Preparations are underway for the tenth annual Flying Man Festival in Pocklington, which will feature a packed programme of events.

To launch the festival, from 9 to 11 May, a gala evening of ‘flying themed’ music is taking place at Pocklington Arts Centre on 9 May at 7pm, with performances from four of the town’s finest choirs - Forgotten Voices lead by Sam Dunkley, Pocklington Singers, Pocklington Junior School Choir and the Methodist Circuit Choir.

The next two days of activities are filled with abseiling, zip wires, art and history exhibitions, trampoline displays, model aircraft and airfield, tower ascents, cake stalls, a flying themed quiz, birds of prey and flying teddy bears.

See next week’s people’s paper (6 March) for the full story.
