A dedicated team of volunteers have been making major improvements to Pocklington Canal to make the towpath safe for visitors.

The Pocklington Canal Amenity Society (PCAS) in partnership with the Inland Waterways Recovery Group (WRG) have been carrying out towpath improvements between Giles and Sandhill locks.

The towpath on this section had become hazardous with the path sloping steeply due to erosion and exposed tree roots which made walking difficult along this section.

Full story in this week’s (28 August) Pocklington Post.
