Youngsters in Bugthorpe have been learning about the importance of eating healthily.

Bugthorpe Under Fives Pre-school received a visit from Christine Wood, a family support worker from Pocklington and Stamford Bridge Children’s Centre, who ran a healthy eating session for the children on Wednesday 15 January.

Christine discussed the main messages from the Change 4 Life initiative appropriate to the under five group.

The children helped prepare simple healthy foods suitable for lunch boxes, did some tasting and played food-related games.

Christine said: “I think the children enjoyed it.

“With the under fives you’re in a prime position to set healthy eating habits for the rest of their life and get them interested in food.”
