HMP Full Sutton inmates seeking sex change operations

An annual report into Full Sutton Prison has revealed that two inmates are seeking taxpayer-funded sex change operations.

The 2012 report by the Independent Monitoring Board for the high-security prison states that two prisoners at the 600-inmate Category A and B male prison had “exercised their legal right of choice and requested the right to start on the path of changing gender”.

The report adds: “Staff have received training and necessary arrangements have been put in place to support the prisoners.”
