editorial image

Excited girl guides from Pocklington helped Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton smash the world record for the largest bunting line at the Humber Bridge last week, to raise money for Comic Relief.

Twenty members of the Pocklington Seventh Girl Guides, were selected to represent guiding across the country, as flags designed by girl guiding groups nationwide were strung together and placed on the landmark on Saturday.

A representative from the Guinness World Records was on hand to witness all 517 flags, each measuring two metres, be put into place, beating the former record of 500 flags.
