An action group formed to inform residents in Elvington about proposals by the City of York Council’s Local Plan is calling for an extension to the consultation period and response deadline.

Members of ‘Keep Elvington Rural!’ have visited almost every household and business in the village to advise people how to submit their comments and discovered that many people have not even heard about the plans.

More than 70% of the industrial estate businesses said that they had received no notification of the expansion plans from the City of York Council and were unaware of the scale of the proposed developments.

Full story in this Thursday’s (17 July) Pocklington Post.
