A family are gearing up to ride a gruelling 1,000 miles on mopeds in aid of a children’s charity.
John Bean, his father Rob, both from Market Weighton, and grandfather Phil, from York, will be accompanied by John’s friend Chris Long on the seven-day trip from Lands End, the extreme southwestward point of England, to John O’Groats, the extreme northern point of mainland Scotland.
They are hoping to complete the challenge on 50cc peddle and pop mopeds, which are started by peddling like you do on a push bike and reach a top speed of 30mph.
The money they raise will go to the Baby Unit Fund.
