A dance school raised hundreds of pounds for charity in just two weeks.

Starbrite Dancentre, which has a studio in Shiptonthorpe, was given the task of raising £400 for a local radio station’s Cash for Kids charity in the space of a fortnight.

Parents and students raised money by selling cakes, buns and raffle tickets to win a Starbrite party in the first week and in the second week gave up their Sunday to do a bag pack at the tills in Tesco, Market Weighton. In total the students raised £532. Emma Bailey-Hague, the Creative Director and Principal, said: “ I am overwhelmed by the support the local community gave to our students.” Famous street dance duo Twist and Pulse are holding workshops at Starbrite’s Shiptonthorpe studio on 9 March.
