A TALENTED local man has had his poetry recognised in a national competition.

Micheal Hildred, 75, from Bolton, entered his poem ‘Bempton by Chance’ in the Open Creative Writing Competition 2012 run by the Milton Keynes Writers Group, eventually coming third out of 96 entrants.

Michael’s poem won over the judges with its musicality, rhythm and descriptive power.
