Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Grove says the public no longer want to use front counters at police stations when quizzed about the opening hours of Pocklington’s station.

Mr Grove attended Pocklington Town Council’s last full council meeting along with Chief Inspector James Glansfield to discuss policing in Pocklington, where it was revealed that the town will have a new permanent sergeant in the next couple of weeks.

At the meeting, councillor Graham Perry raised his concerns over residents allegedly being unable to speak to staff at the station on George Street because of its opening hours.

Full story in next week’s (17 July) Pocklington Post.
