Come and join Pocklington’s Green Gym

POCKLINGTON’S Green Gym will be up and running at Melbourne Marina again this week, with organisers keen to attract even more people to take part in the scheme.

Run by The Conservation Volunteers, the Green Gym aims to improve community sites in the Pocklington area, while helping to keep people fit as they take part in outdoor work.

Organisers say the scheme also provides a valuable opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills.

Project officer Sam Walker said: “I have been working with the volunteers since 2011 and I can’t wait to get more people caring for themselves and the green places in the East Riding of Yorkshire and seeing the difference that we can make together.”

All are welcome to turn up at the marina between 10.30am and 1.30pm this Friday, and help with transport can be arranged by calling Sam Walker on 07798 693718.

Tea and biscuits are provided but participants will need to bring their own packed lunches.
