A charity shop in Market Weighton is once again able to deliver and collect goods after investing in a new van.

On 5 December last year, a thief stole Market Weighton Community Shop’s only van while the driver of the vehicle had gone into a house on Thimble Hall Lane, Newport to pick up a sofa.

The shop was left with no vehicle to deliver and collect items during its busiest time of year. But the shop has now bought a new van and has resumed its pick up and delivery service. Christine Cawkwell, a trustee of the shop, said: “The trustees would like to thank the public for storing their unwanted items while we could purchase a new van.”
