Charity re-launches initiative

A FESTIVE fundraising initiative is being re-launched this year by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

‘Santa Paws’ is an opportunity for people to organise festive events to raise funds and awareness for Hearing Dogs, which has a training centre in Bielby.

The event could be a mulled wine and mince pie evening, a Santa dash, a best dressed Santa competition or snowman face painting for children. Other ideas include a Christmas Carol quiz, a Christmas raffle or tombola or guess the name of the Christmas tree fairy.

The size, scale or type of event is entirely up to the fundraiser, as long as it has a festive theme and supports Hearing Dogs.

Hearing dogs alert their deaf partners to everyday sounds that most people take for granted, such as the alarm clock, doorbell, a baby crying and smoke alarm.

To register your event and receive your free Santa Paws fundraising pack, contact Lucy Ward on (01759) 322255 or e-mail at lucy.ward@hearingdogs.org.uk.
