Golfers teed off for The British Heart Foundation and raised more than £1,500.

The Foundation’s Pocklington and District Committee held their annual golf tournament last Thursday at The Oaks Golf Club in Aughton.

There were 23 teams of four golfers – mens, ladies and mixed - from clubs across Yorkshire and further afield. They enjoyed a coffee and bacon sandwich on arrival, 18 holes of golf with half-way house refreshments, followed by a post-tournament pie, chips and peas. The overall winners were Stuart Clough, John Webster, Andy Barrett and Charlie Willerton.

Christine Hindwell, chairperson of the Pocklington committee, said, “As always we are extremely grateful to everyone who took part on the day and we would also like to offer a special appreciation to our sponsors and supporters who contribute so much. I would like to thank the management and staff of The Oaks Golf Club who ensured a great day was had by all.”

The British Heart Foundation urgently needs more people to support them.
