Staff at a Market Weighton pub are raising a glass after receiving an award for serving great cask ale.
The Carpenters Arms, on Southgate, has received the Cask Marque Award, which recognises pubs that serve top quality real ale.
To achieve the award, the pub received two visits, one of which was an unannounced, from a Cask Marque qualified assessor.
The assessor sampled different ales on offer at the pub and inspected its cellar to make sure it was up to standard.
The Carpenters Arms has been given a ‘Certificate of Excellence’ from Cask Marque, which has a QR code printed on it that drinkers can scan to find other Cask Marque pubs.
Amie Morris, manager of the pub, said: “It’s definitely good for the pub but it also brings other people to Market Weighton. I’ve had people from Willerby and Hull coming to scan the code as well.”
