A great grandmother celebrated a milestone birthday with her family and friends.
Julia Kemp, who lives at Wold Haven Care Home in Pocklington, turned 100 recently and marked the occasion with a birthday bash at the home. The party was attended by four generations of Mrs Kemp’s family. Her daughter-in-law Jill said: “She had a really nice day with all the family there. “The care home baked her a cake and she received a telegram from the Queen.” Mrs Kemp, a mother-of-one, grandmother-of-three and great grandmother-of-two, has lived most of her life in Thwing, near Driffield. She has also lived in Bridlington before she moved to Pocklington several years ago. She worked as a farm laborer before becoming a house wife. Her late husband Harold died about 33 years ago.
