Event organiser Dorothy Brighton presents a cheque for �46,385 to Dr Abdul Hamid of Hull Royal Infirmarys stroke unit

An astonishing £46,385 has been raised during a charity ‘Bushbeaters Ball’ at Warter Priory Estate.

About 330 people converged on the estate for the annual event to raise funds for the stroke unit at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The ball, organised by Dorothy Brighton, is held in memory of her late husband Andrew who died seven years ago after a stroke.
