The British Heart Foundation Pocklington and District Committee has received the Area Fundraising Volunteer of the Year Award for North and East Yorkshire from the heart charity.

The committee, made up of volunteers who raise vital funds for the charity year on year, was presented with the award in recognition of its thirty years of outstanding service to the charity, including a record 30th anniversary year in 2013-14 which saw them raise £59,738 for heart research and heart patients. Christine Hindwell, chairperson of the committee, said: “I am delighted that the committee has been given such a prestigious award as there are so many worthy volunteers who give their time to the Foundation.”
