An artist from Skirpenbeck who has artwork hanging in countries around the world has won an award for one of her portraits.

Catherine Inglis is a member of the Society of Women Artists and has won the Windsor and Newton Fine Art Award with her pastel portrait of artist Robin Horspool from North Dalton, The artwork has been on display at the Mall Galleries in London as part of an exhibition held by the Society of Women Artists.

Mrs Inglis, who won two awards at the society’s 150th celebratory exhibition in 2011, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have received such a prestigious award.” Mrs Inglis specialises in commission work for portraits and animal portraits. Her work hangs in many areas of the UK, across Europe, China, South Africa, Australia and the USA.
