RESIDENTS descended on Pocklington’s Market Place last Sunday to enjoy a continental market.

The Traditional European Food and Craft Fair visited Pocklington for the second year running and offered a range of food and goods from across the continent.

Mayor of Pocklington, councillor Tony Marron, was slightly disappointed with the number of traders that turned up on the day.

He said: “I was a bit disappointed with the number of stalls, we were told that there would be 20 stalls arriving and there was only 11 when I went round the market mid-morning.

“However, everybody seemed to be enjoying it and I was glad to see so many shops also open.”
