A dangerous junction near Market Weighton, which has claimed 14 lives in the past five years, is set for a £1.5 million revamp.
A new roundabout will be installed at the Holme Road A1079 junction, much to the delight of residents, who have long called for action at the site.
Road safety campaigner Paul St Clair said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic, it’s a victory for common sense. This will make it miles safer, at the moment it’s really hard for people to get out at the junction.
