Several pubs in our area have been highlighted as amongst the best in the country and will appear in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2014.

The Goodmanham Arms in Goodmanham, The St Vincent Arms in Sutton-on-Derwent and the Grey Horse in Elvington have all been selected for the guide which recognises the best pubs throughout the
country.

Vito Logozzi, landlord at the Goodmanham Arms, said: “We’re really pleased that people recognise this pub as a good real ale pub.

“We have our own microbrewery and offer a great selection. There’s such great surroundings here and the pub has great character so we’re just really happy, and of course it’ll be good for business.”

Simon Hopwood, landlord at the St Vincent Arms, said: “We have appeared in the guide for the past 23 years and we always get CAMRA members coming in here. We’ve won York CAMRA Pub of the Year
twice.

“We try to have at least seven real ales on at any one time and being mentioned in the guide is great news for us.”
