Letter: Now’s the time to stop TV licence fee injustice

It is high time that the whole system of how the BBC is funded is closely scrutinised for the good of everyone.
It is high time that the whole system of how the BBC is funded is closely scrutinised for the good of everyone.

The BBC funding system has become both an anachronism and a disgrace.

It is indeed sad that such a system had to be imposed in the first place, way back when television was invented.

Being on benefits it grieves me personally that my TV licence tends to increase annually and always above the rate of inflation.

There is a world of difference between providing entertainment and actually giving excellent value for money. The injustice is there for all to see.

Surely it’s high time that the whole system of how the BBC is funded is closely scrutinised for the good of everyone.

It has to be asked why can’t the BBC fund itself from advertisements? As social divisions in Britain grow wider we need to put the matter to bed once and for all and end this scandalous tax on entertainment.
