Co-op manager Martin Pickering is looking to complete the 24-hour Red Cross challenge.

The Co-operative Group and the British Red Cross are working in partnership to help tackle social isolation and loneliness across the UK.

The Co-operative, which has over 70,000 staff and eight million members across the UK, aims to raise funds over the next two years through a variety of local and national fundraising activities. Money raised by The Co-operative will assist the Red Cross in providing vital care and support for thousands of isolated and lonely people, helping them reconnect with those communities and bringing them life-changing care in their homes.

Here at the Stamford Bridge Co-operative we are taking the challenge very seriously and all doing what we can to raise as much money as possible.

Along with a series of other local initiatives which the team are delivering, one of the main events will be a 24-hour cycle challenge which store manager Martin Pickering has set out to complete.

He will be in-store on a exercise bike peddling for 24 hours straight (with comfort breaks) from 3pm on Friday 22 July until Saturday 23 July, hoping to encourage shoppers to donate to this worthy cause.

You can either donate on the day or in advance through our dedicated Just Giving page http://bit.ly/1WNkPfU.
