I, like so many others, remain deeply concerned at the state of the political scene in the UK. Only this week, it has been confirmed that some Tory Parliamentary candidates at the recent General Election were victims of hatred, racial and even physical abuse.
Regardless of one’s political views, this is no way to behave, is it? There was even evidence of such behaviour in East Yorkshire. A large number of roadside posters promoting Sir Greg
Knight as the Conservative candidate were de-faced by someone armed with a red spray can. This is not a very bright way of getting a message across to voters.
I understand the identity of this person is known to some.
Is it not better that we debate our views openly and with civil regard for each other, not go around de-facing posters in an act of political cowardice?
