A LANDSCAPING firm in Pocklington is celebrating after sweeping a major award.

Brett Landscaping, on the Pocklington Industrial Estate, received the Outstanding Contribution to Health & Safety award at the Best Practice Awards 2011, which was given to production team leader Gary Lancaster.

Speaking about the award, Mr Lancaster said: “We are delighted to win this award, which follows a programme of restructuring across all Brett Landscaping sites. We have undergone a lot of changes and improvements, which have positively impacted on the culture at the site.”

The company picked up awards in three of the six categories. For the second year running they received the Gold Award with Red Seal for the British Precast Concrete Federation Hard Targets scheme.

The Best Practice Awards, which recognise excellence and sustainability, are organised by the British Precast Concrete Federation and were announced at the federation’s annual conference which took place in Leicester last month.

Brett Landscaping’s Pocklington site is an automated wet-cast plant which produces decorative paving slabs for the domestic landscaping market, available through builders merchants.
