Youngsters were rustling up some tasty treats while learning about Chinese New Year.

Parents and guardians helped the children to make spring rolls during a session at Kiddies Corner Day Nursery in Wilberfoss.

Organiser Vanessa Mills, whose son attends the nursery, said: “There is nothing else like this in the area. It is a way to get children together and have some fun but at the same time earn a life skill. I’ve found that the sooner the children get into cooking, the more likely they are to like food and understand where it comes from.”

While the food was cooking, the children took part in a number of fun activities including learning how to eat noodles with chopsticks, learning about Chinese New Year and where the food they cook comes from.

The children were able to then taste the delicious spring rolls to finish off the session’s fun.
