A HAIRDRESSER and beautician joined forces to raise a whopping £830 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.

Tracey Spence, of Austin Charles hairdressers, and Gemma Waring, of Gemstones beauty therapy, both in Market Weighton, held a raffle, cake stall and donated their day’s takings in support of the breast cancer charity’s Wear it Pink Day.

Tracey said both were delighted with the amount raised – easily topping last year’s £620 total – and both wished to thank all their customers for giving so generously.

“We’re really pleased with how much we raised,” said Tracey.

“We do something every year for the Wear it Pink Day and we’re so pleased that we did even better than last year.

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated money and raffle prizes.”
