Plans are afoot to build a new holiday home park with up to 225 holiday lodges and static caravans, creating up to 30 full and part time jobs for the area.
The proposed site for the project is Allerthorpe Park Golf Course, which closed in January last year. The scheme will include the retention of up to 11 holes on the golf course, which will be open to the public on a pay and play basis.
No planning application has yet been submitted but the plans have been met with strong criticism from Allerthorpe Parish Council which said the village only has 64 homes.
