Pocklington’s infrastructure needs to be improved before there is any more housing development in the town, according to local residents and businesses.

That was one of the needs identified by a survey conducted to help form a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Pocklington.

The town council, together with Barmby Moor Parish Council, have been striving to create a Neighbourhood Development Plan since 2012. The Plan will set out a vision of Pocklington’s long-term future and allow local people to get the right type of development for the town, but the Plan must still meet the needs of the wider area.

At a town meeting at Pocklington Arts Centre, Peter Hirschfield presented the results from questionnaires that were delivered to every household in Pocklington, Barmby Moor and all businesses on the industrial estate earlier this year.
