A group of children at Pocklington CE Infant School last week spent one of their lunch times picking up litter in the streets around the town.

The community-minded pupils collected litter on London Street, Kirkland Street and then back onto Maxwell Road as part of the Big Tidy Up March 2017 campaign run by Keep Britain Tidy.

A spokeswoman at the school said: “The litter pick is something that the children do on a regular basis. However, they were very disappointed at how much litter they found this time around.”
