Members of the Pocklington WI got “In the Mood” with the Barlby Foot Tappers band playing a Glenn Miller number at their party to celebrate
100 years of the institute.

The 12-member band led by conductor, Andrew Joy, played popular tunes and encouraged everyone to take part playing instruments and singing along.

Following the entertainment, everyone tucked into a delicious supper, which included a special celebratory cake cut into earlier in the evening by Band Conductor, Andrew Joy, and Pocklington WI President Barbara Ball.

And for anyone who wants to know more about the WI, from Monday 14 September until the 19 September a display in recognition of the WI’s Centenary is available to view in Pocklington Library.

Pocklington WI meets every second Wednesday of the month at the Masonic Lodge on The Mile from 7.15pm.

Come along and join us – new members are always welcome.
