Hunt goes on for tyre stabber

Police are continuing to hunt for the vandal who stabbed tyres on more than 100 vehicles in Pocklington, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Humberside Police have received 140 reports of vehicles having had tyres intentionally punctured with a sharp object over two nights in the town.

The incidents happened overnight, Wednesday 2 to Thursday 3 September, and again Thursday 3 to Friday 4 September.

Earlier this week police released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. He is described as a white man with a slim to medium build and short dark hair which is balding on top. He may have been using a white van.

Humberside Police says it has received numerous calls from the public since the CCTV was released and enquiries are being undertaken in town by officers.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incidents.

Since last week, there have been no further reports of tyres being damaged in the area.
