A fun day for the whole family was held by Lyndhurst Day Nursery last Saturday, which raised about £900 for charity.

Pupils, parents and other local residents descended on the nursery to enjoy the various activities that took place during the event.

Among the attractions was pony rides, a bouncy castle, coconut shy, tombola and raffle, with various prizes up grabs donated by local businesses.

Prizes included a golf lesson at the KP Club in Pocklington, a meal at The Star Inn in North Dalton and champagne from Aldi in Pocklington.

Fund raised on the day will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Ann Lyon, manager of the nursery, said: “All the staff made cakes and gave up time to do the event. It was a real good community event.”
A presentation was held at the end of the event for staff who have worked at the nursery for over 10 years. The staff received champagne flutes for their service to the nursery.
