The 67th Pocklington Chrysanthemum Show featured some blooming brilliant entries.
The event, held last Saturday, featured an exhibition of chrysanthemums, house plants, fruit and vegetables, cookery, wines, handicrafts, floral art, photography and childrens exhibits.
Organised by Pocklington Chrysanthemum Society, the show was held at Pocklington’s Burnby Hall and attracted hundreds of entries.
Sheila Smith, secretary of the Society, said: “The show was very well supported although the exhibits were down they were of a very high standard and the judges had a very difficult job of awarding the prizes. We had more people than ever through the door which made for a very busy afternoon. The teas and cake stall were a complete sell out.” During the event, the Society welcomed their new president, Robert Ducker, and thanked retiring president Ken Tinson for more than 30 years service with the Society.
The Society would like to thank Pocklington Town Council, sponsors and all the helpers on the day for their support.
