At least 30 organisations from across the East Riding will converge on Holme-on-Spalding Moor Village Hall next month for a Community Support Day.

Organised by Holme-on-Spalding Moor Parish Council and Goole and Howdenshire Community Partnership, the event, on Wednesday 8 May, will be the first of its kind ever held in the Holme-on-Spalding Moor area.

It is an opportunity for local residents to find out more about public sector services available to them as well as receive general advice on health matters, crime and fire prevention.

It also a chance for locals to learn more about what voluntary and community groups they can take part in within Holme-on-Spalding Moor.

Chris Worrall, chairman of Holme-on-Spalding Moor Parish Council, said: “It’s going to be the biggest event in the area ever done. We’ve never done anything like it before.”
