Staff and customers at a fast food restaurant in Shiptonthorpe had a pleasant surprise when hit boy band Union J dropped by for some lunch.
The X Factor finalists stopped off at McDonald’s last Saturday and Sunday and were kind enough to have to have a photo taken with some of the staff.
Franchisee Mike O’Reilly, who runs the restaurant, said: “It was a great surprise for both our customers and staff when the Union J boys called in for lunch, and they were great letting us take photos with them and our staff. They must have enjoyed their visit on Saturday as they called in again on Sunday. They certainly seemed to have made a lot of people’s day, especially the girls working for us.”
Union J, consisting of members Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley and George Shelley, finished fourth in the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012.
Their latest song ‘Tonight (We Live Forever)’ is their third UK top 10 single.
