The new Pilgrimage of Grace Heritage Trail, between Warter and Pocklington, is being officially launched on Sunday.

The trail commemorates local aspects of the Pilgrimage of Grace, the great Yorkshire rebellion of 1536 that was sparked by the dissolution of the monasteries.

It is an eight and three-quarter mile walk across the Wolds countryside that starts at the Yorkshire Wolds Heritage Centre at St James Warter, which is built on the site of the former Augustinian Priory.
