FIFTY jobs have been created for Pocklington, Market Weighton and Stamford Bridge by a company that provides home-based personal care and support services to older people.

Caremark, which is East Riding’s fastest growing care company, is recruiting 50 people who will be locally based so anyone employed in Pocklington, for example, will work in Pocklington and surrounding villages.

Altogether, Caremark is taking on 350 more staff across the region.

The company’s East Riding office is based in Hessle but Caremark has offices all across the UK and Ireland.

The business also provides home-based care and support to people of all ages with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or terminal illnesses.

Director of Caremark East Riding, Karen Precious, said: “Demand for our services has been unprecedented and our growth rate is among the fastest in the country.

“We provide high standards of care designed to meet individual needs at highly competitive prices and this is generating exceptional demand from customers.

“We urgently need more staff to meet this demand and we are offering attractive rates of pay to candidates of the right calibre. We provide full training so experience is not critical but being a caring and considerate person is.”

Caremark East Riding was launched six months ago and has already recruited 100 staff.

It has been accredited as a preferred supplier by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and provides a full range of personal care and support services, from helping with washing and dressing to assistance with shopping, preparing light meals, domestic duties and companionship.

Mrs Precious said: “We are working with local Jobcentres to help recruit staff and we will be attending a major jobs fair in Hull on 23 February.”

Anyone interested in applying for a job with Caremark East Riding can contact them at their local Jobcentre or direct on (01482) 579579.
