Wolds Cottage Kitchen, Wetwang, have been awarded a Gold Star for their pink grapefruit marmalade at this year’s Great Taste Awards.

The product received one out of a possible three stars which is described by the Guild of Fine Foods as “faultless”. The judges commented that the marmalade has “a glossy sheen, good set and vibrant

flavours”.

These awards are the most trusted and recognised food and drink awards. Each food entered receives feedback from a panel of over 400 judges and coveted stars are awarded. This year there were over 9738 entries and only 3294 received stars.

2013 is proving to be a very successful year for Wolds Cottage Kitchen; this accolade follows up their success earlier this year at the Worlds Original Marmalade Awards where they won a Silver Award for another one of their

marmalades – Orange & Whisky.

Melanie Moss, owner of Wolds Cottage Kitchen said: “I am so pleased with receiving this coveted award for my Pink Grapefruit Marmalade. Although I make many other preserves I am becoming well known for my various award winning

marmalades”.

She added, “I was over the moon with the Silver Award I won earlier this year at the Worlds Original Marmalade Awards but to add a Great Taste Award is overwhelming. It makes all the hard work really worth it. I am so proud that my

Pink Grapefruit will be able to display the Great Taste Award Logo, a true sign of a

great product”.

All entries were judged on Appearance, Aroma, Taste, and Texture. “I am really pleased that our flavours shone through as everything we produce is handmade in small batches from our kitchen in Wetwang. We pride ourselves in not using any

artificial preservatives, colourings or flavourings, every jar is as nature intended.”
