Gardens delays its first Tulip Festival

Appalling weather conditions over the winter has caused Burnby Hall Gardens to postpone its first Tulip Festival by more than a week.

The festival was due to be held from Thursday 25 April to Sunday 5 May, but as the soil has been too cold for the bulbs to grow in time, the event will now take place from Saturday 4 May to Sunday 12 May.

In preparation for the festival, more than 14,000 bulbs have been planted with over 30 varieties spread across the gardens.
