Funding body makes U-turn over grants in area

Funding body Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN) has made a U-turn over awarding funding to projects in the area, saying groups and organisations are now able to apply for grants.

WREN told the Post last week that it had stopped awarding grants to projects within 10 miles of the Gallymoor Landfill Site near Holme-on-Spalding Moor because it believed the site was closing.

But the site, owned by FCC Environment, is still operational.
