A former pharmacy could be converted into a restaurant with an occasional takeaway facility in Pocklington.

A planning application has been submitted to East Riding Council to change the use of the building, on Pavement, which used to be a Boots pharmacy but has been vacant for some months. In the design and access statement submitted with the plans, the applicant, Maz, says the proposal is for change of use with no external alteration to the building apart from the construction of an extract duct from the existing kitchen to the rear and the removal of the shop front signage. The statement says: “There is to be a waiting and seating area together with a bar, the remainder of the floor area to be used main seating area for the restaurant.”
