The monthly farmers’ market is set to return to Market Weighton on Saturday (17 October).

The market will return after a short break with a new-look market, from 9am-1pm. Visitors can expect more than 40 stalls selling a selection of the best seasonal, regional produce, in addition to a dedicated section for arts and crafts.

Market Weighton Town Council and the new market managers Blooms A1 Events have been working hard to source some of the regions finest products for the re-launch of the farmers’ market. A spokesperson for Blooms A1 Events said: “We have some hard work ahead of us to give this market the credit it deserves, with some ambitious plans for 2015-16 and are sure the public won’t be disappointed with what the market will have to offer. We will have some of the freshest produce around grown, produced, reared and crafted in the area, with some of the most amazing unique gifts on offer too. We really hope the locals embrace and visit another local farmers’ market.”

Market Weighton mayor, councillor Peter Hemmerman, said: “Visitors will love coming along to the new farmers’ market to sample some of the fresh, local produce. And with so many stalls selling such a variety of goods, many will be stocking up on the latest seasonal fruit and vegetables at the farmers’ market.”
