The interesting artefacts were collected by Major Percy Marlborough Stewart during his extensive travels around the world between 1906-1926.
Our featured objects formed a central part of the Yorkshire Precious Cargo Project in 2012, and are currently part of an exciting exhibition running at Beverley’s Treasure House until the end of December.
After the showing, they will be returned to the Stewart Museum at Burnby Hall Gardens.
This week, our featured item is a carved wooden figure.
See tomorrow’s Pocklington Post (12 December) for the full feature.
