Coffee giant Starbucks could soon open a drive-thru on the outskirts of Pocklington as part of the new £2million service station, which is now up and running.
The Brookfield Group, owner of Pocklington Services, which officially opened last Tuesday, is in negotiations with American coffee chain Starbucks over building a drive-thru at the same two-hectare site, which would create about 15 new jobs for the area.
Pocklington Services, between the old Hodsow Lane junction and the road which connects to the new roundabout on the A1079, has already created about 25 new jobs and includes a Subway store, a Costa Express, a Nisa Local convenience store and a Fresh Bake bakery.
Aziz Patel, from The Brookfield Group, says a decision on whether there is going to be a Starbucks drive-thru is “pending” and that building work “will soon start.”
